If you leave near a Jimmy John’s sub shop, they sell their day-old bread for 50 cents a loaf, and they count anything that is over five hours old as “day-old” so usually it’s pretty fresh. You can obviously make a huge sandwich with it, but I’ve also made garlic bread, tiny french toast, tiny grilled cheese, and used the harder stuff to make croutons, bread pudding, etc!
